Inclusion isn't a policy - it's a daily practice

Did you know that only 22% of Autistic Adults in the UK are in any type of paid employment?

This just highlights the huge need we have to create better educational experiences for Autistic students, ensuring needs are identified and met along with proper support and guidance into the workplaces.

Workplaces need to take a more pro-active approach when it comes to encouraging Neurodivergent applicants and putting effective frameworks and supports in place from advertising and recruitment stage all the way through to every day progress.

Having a diverse and inclusive workforce brings a wealth of advantages. Building neurodiverse teams can allow employers to unlock better business outcomes. Companies have already reported marked gains in productivity, efficiency, and work quality because of their neurodiversity initiatives.

Workplace Training Sessions

Here at Waking Up To Autism we provide training to workplaces to help create awareness and promote acceptance. Employers who actively seek to increase their knowledge and desire to embrace a diverse workforce are leading the way when it comes to ensuring a creative, dynamic and pioneering service.

We can provide training online or in person - covering what it means to be autistic, the challenges that this can bring in the workplace, how to help identify needs, simple but effective adaptations to day-to-day systems as well as supporting management on how to engage, communicate and support colleagues.

Our training will not only help you to support Neurodivergent staff but will also help your staff to be able to support Neurodivergent clients.

Testimonials....

Our Employees Left Both Sessions Feeling More Informed and Empowered...

"We have had the pleasure of welcoming Claire to VWV twice to speak with our firm about neurodiversity, specifically Autism for Autism Awareness Month and ADHD for ADHD Awareness Month. Claire is an incredibly knowledgeable and engaging speaker who brings both expertise and warmth to her sessions. Her personable approach created a comfortable environment for learning, and her insights were invaluable in deepening our understanding of neurodiversity in the workplace and for parents/carers of neurodiverse children. Our employees left both sessions feeling more informed and empowered, and we truly appreciate the impact of her work. We look forward to working with Claire again in the future.

Thank you, Claire!"

Felt Like We Could Have Talked All Afternoon...

"The session Claire hosted was amazing and was received positively by all who attended.

You are so knowledgeable in this field!

We loved the way you approached the answers to the questions and just wish we could have had more time at the end for discussion – it felt like we could have talked all afternoon!"
